                                                   St.Patrick’s Day

The day you celebrate St. Patrick’s Day is on every March17. We celebrate St.Patrick’s Day because it is the date of Saint Patrick’s death. This day is celebrate but mostly St. Patrick was one of Ireland's patron saints, who ministered Christianity in Ireland during the fifth century. St. Patrick is celebrated in countries with people of Irish descent. One fact is that the color green the we use for this day was not green back then. It was actually blue.  Ireland's nickname is “The Emerald Isle” so because of this, green became a more popular color on this holiday. In the 1700s Irish immigrants in the U.S. started the first St. Patty's Day Parade in New York City. Also this day was only celebrated in Ireland. In this day you have to wear green. Or else they will pinch you. Other  people pinch people  to remind them that leprechauns wouldn't approve of their non- green apparel. A leprechaun are usually depicted as little bearded men, wearing a coat and wear a hat.
