This quote means if you do good. Good will always come to you in return. If you do good you will not be wasting your time something you are doing bad. Like for example you volunteer for something that will lead you to feel more happy. You going to feel happy because you did something good that day. Lastly you will feel good because you helped someone. In the other hand if you do bad then that will lead to bad. That will lead too bad and bad things and it will fall your investment. For example if you do bad. Bad will at one point come to you. You go help or volunteer and they force you then that is not good. You should do the good without no one telling you to do it.
